This item was released six months after the area spoon Backus, which took the world by storm as an epoch-making area spoon. While Backus was primarily designed to target large fish near the bottom, we wondered if we could create something with a wide front that could attack the upper layers. The Dona was our answer to the market demand. The development criteria for the series were "thin and light" and it started with a flashing pattern that was conscious of the surface. It is now a long-selling model that has continued to branch out into various series that deliver results in a variety of situations.

Nicknamed "Straightforward Dona," this is a long-selling, popular model from Area Spoon.

We have been working on front wide for many years, but the thing that was most difficult to balance was the Dohna. 2g was especially difficult. However, after its release, it became known affectionately as the "Hochoku Dohna" and has been designated as an indispensable item for Hochoku to this day.

Dohna has front wide, deep cup shaped body to make steady wobbling at wide range of speed. It body metal is thin to be used at the surface. The front wide shaped spoons were first to be released from Anglers System, to keep the spoons at the hitting range even after the latter half of retrieve in stream. Dohna swims shallow range, but the front wide shape keeps it without popping from surface.
